Sessions
How remote healing reaches you across a distance
When I say that a session can be sent to someone who is far away, people often wonder whether it really arrives. I wondered the same thing the first time I received one. This post is about the remote form itself: how I think about distance, and how the work is actually done.
How I think about distance
At the deepest layer of the soul and its energy, physical distance stops mattering very much. That idea is the ground remote healing stands on. I hold it as a way of thinking that has been carried down for a long time, not as a mechanism I can demonstrate. I cannot explain why it works, and I have stopped trying to. I work with it as it is.
That is also what your name, address, and a recent photo are for when you book. They are used to locate you accurately across the distance. It is close to marking a single point on a very large map.
What I do on the day starts with placing what you sent in front of me at the agreed hour and turning my attention toward where you are. From there, the work is close to identical to sitting with someone in the room. The one difference is that the room is empty.
You do not have to believe in it before you can receive it. Some people book while still unsure and notice something only afterward. Settling the question of how it works is not a condition for beginning.
Receiving in your own place
Beyond the question of distance, remote work has a quieter, more practical advantage. You receive it where you already live.
Coming to the salon means a trip across town, an unfamiliar room, and the ride home afterward. None of that is a problem in itself, but some part of the body stays slightly on guard through all of it. At home you close the door, silence your phone, and lie down, with nothing in between. For letting go all the way down, that difference counts for a great deal. When I received a session remotely myself, I softened far enough that my awareness drifted partway through, and afterward I could go straight to bed without getting dressed to go anywhere.
This form also reaches people who live overseas, people who cannot easily leave the house, and people in a stretch of life when health makes it hard to commit to an appointment in advance. At Hikari no Ki, Ensofic Reiki® is offered both in person and remotely, and Spark of Life is offered only remotely.
What the hour itself is like
Taking Spark of Life as the example, the session runs about sixty minutes and costs ¥20,000 including tax. For the first thirty minutes or so you sit in a chair with notifications turned off and stay quiet. For the second half you lie down, and falling asleep is fine. Sleeping does not stop the work from reaching you.
For a few days to a few weeks after a session, an inner shift can keep unfolding. On the day itself and the day after, take things slowly and drink plenty of water. Because you are at home, that stretch of time stays yours, at your own pace, in your own rooms. That may be where the remote form suits people best.
If a remote session is new to you and you are unsure, a free 30-minute Zoom consultation is a fine place to start.
